The Bitcoin Nairobi Conference 2026 is East Africa's most significant Bitcoin forum, bringing together policymakers, developers, businesses, and everyday users to explore real-world Bitcoin applications beyond speculation.
What sets BNC apart is who it is built by — grassroots builders, educators, and entrepreneurs who are not theorising about Bitcoin's potential in Africa. They are already proving it, one community at a time.
This is not about trading. It's about understanding how Bitcoin can address real financial challenges facing Kenya and the broader African continent — from chamas in Kibera to merchant settlement in Kampala to remittances across borders.
The conference programme is built around real, grounded questions — not hype.
What it is and what it is not. Bitcoin versus the broader crypto category. Common misconceptions, plainly addressed.
Inflation and fixed supply dynamics. Saving in a changing economic environment. Rethinking long-term value and sovereignty.
Trust and verification. Centralised versus decentralised models. The changing architecture of money.
Payments, merchant acceptance, cross-border trade, remittances, local economic models, SME applications.
Developers building on Bitcoin infrastructure. Open systems and the innovation stack. East African builder showcase.
Government and regulator perspectives. The future of digital finance in Africa. Kenya as a policy leadership opportunity.
A curated lineup of grassroots Bitcoin builders, policy leaders, and entrepreneurs from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, DRC — and across the diaspora.
